Lori-Kaye Miller

"…a wonderfully rich, passionate sound, including loamy chest tone and that contemporary rarity among mezzos of any tonal weight - a stunning middle voice….she imbued the idealistic artist's lines with deep feeling, capturing the opera's soul and inspiring an ovation."
Opera News - review of Ariadne auf Naxos -2006

Hailed as "a rich-voiced Brigitta", young mezzo-soprano Lori-Kaye Miller has performed throughout the United States and Europe.

Ms. Miller's poignant partials of Carmen, Dalilah, Giulietta, Dorabella, Adalgisa, Charlotte and Suzuki have distinguished her as one of the top mezzo-sopranos in the world and her dynamic gender bending "pants" roles of Romeo, Nicklausse, Cherubino, Idamante, Sesto, Annio and especially Strauss' Octavian and The Composer have stirred nothing more than an international sensation.

Ms. Miller has performed with numerous opera companies which include New York City Opera, Minnesota Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, El Paso Opera, Lake George Opera Festival and The Opera Orchestra of New York. She has also collaborated with conductors and directors from around the world such as Danny Beckwith, Harry Bicket, Richard Buckley, Raymond Harvey, Ward Holmquist, George Manahan, Eve Queler, Jonathan Alver, Stephen Lawless and Marc Versatt.

Having made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2007 as a soloist accompanied by the New England Symphonic Ensemble, Ms Miller has also appeared with the Boise Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, Kalamazoo Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Portland Symphony and Ensemble du Monde in repertoire that ranges from Malher's Songs of a Wayfarer to Durefle's Requiem and Beethoven's 9th Symphony.

Upcoming highlights next season include a Lincoln Center concert and a debut recording of Opera Arias with the Sofia Philharmonic.
