"The most prominent young Spanish pianist of the decade" MARTHA ARGERICH (La Capital, Mar del Plata, Argentina)

Born in Girona, Spain, Lluís Rodríguez-Salvà began his musical education at the "Isaac Albèniz" Conservatory of his native city and, after studying with professors Luiz de Moura Castro - chairman of the Piano Department at the Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford (USA) - and María Jesús Crespo, he obtained his Bachelor Degree from the Barcelona Conservatory. Afterwards, he pursued a Master Degree at the Manhattan School of Music in New York (USA) in the studio of eminent pianist Byron Janis, student of Vladimir Horowitz, and Marc Silverman, and obtained the "Harold Bauer Award", the highest honor bestowed upon a graduating student.

Since then he has established an artistic relationship with Miyoko Lotto - faculty member of New York University - and has received advice from internationally renowned artists like Martha Argerich, Alicia de Larrocha, Daniel Barenboim, Bruno Gelber, Galina Egyazarova and Joaquín Achúcarro.

His musical qualities have always been effusively praised and he has become a 14-times 1st-prize winner in national and international Piano Competitions:

He has also receive prizes at competitions like "José Iturbi", "5 Towns Competition", "Pilar Bayona", "Manuel Massotti Littel", "Miszieslav Munz", "Ciutat de Berga", "Gregorio Baudot", "Ciudad de Albacete" and "Maria Canals".

His performance activities include appearances as a recitalist, chamber musician, soloist and accompanist. He has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestra of the Spanish Radio and Television (RTVE), Seville Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Sinfonietta, Orchestra of Castilla y León, Orquesta de Elche, MSM Symphony Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic, Mar del Plata Symphony Orchestra and San Juan Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductors like Jerzy Semkow, Uwe Mund, Moshe Atzmon, David Gilbert, Francesc Llongueres, Jordi Mora, Alejandro Posada and Alexei Izmirliev and he has been heard in almost every mayor hall in Spain as well as in Italy, Germany, France, Romania, the United States and Japan. He has made recordings for the Spanish National Television and for Radio Stations and has frequently appeared in specialized magazines like Ritmo, Amadeus and Scherzo.

In 2004 he made his debut at "Weill Recital Hall" at the Carnegie Hall in New York City and as artist-in-residence of "Centro de Estudios Pianísticos" he made a successful 3-week tour in Argentina.

This year he will be heard in Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the United States and he is preparing his second tour in South-America for next fall.
