Trio Elagiaque was founded in 2000 by three Première Prix winning graduates of the Paris Conservatoire, Romano Pallottini (piano), Laurent Le Flécher (violin) and Virginie Constant (cello), whose love for chamber music bonded them into a group that has emerged as one of the finest chamber ensembles in France. They have performed throughout Europe and abroad and their performances have received critical acclaim.

The trio transcends traditional boundaries by performing not only works of standard repertoire but also contemporary and avant-garde composers such as Pascal Dusapin, Olivier Messiaen and Renaud Gagneux. Many of these works were written especially for the ensemble and of which they have played in world première performances.

Outstanding guest artists frequently join the ensemble in concert in performances of larger chamber works such as Schubert's Trout Quintet, Shostakovich's Romance-Suite, Brahms' Piano Quartets and other works.

Currently Trio Elagiaque is ensemble-in-Residence at the prestigious Les Musicales de Pontivy International Music Festival in Brittany and just completed the first of several recording the Harmonia Mundi label featuring Messiaen's Quatuor pour la Fin du Temps with clarinetist Jean-Philippe Vivier.

This upcoming season the trio will perform numerous recitals as well as several concerts as soloists with major orchestras in works that range from Beethoven's Triple Concert to Martinu's Concertino.
