
Yuriy Bekker
Belarusian violinist Yuriy Bekker received both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Indiana University School of Music, studying under Nelli Shkolnikova and is currently completing a Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore where he studies with Herbert Greenberg, and is the concertmaster of Peabody Symphony.
He has participated in numerous chamber music and orchestral festivals in the US, Europe and Asia including Pacific Music Festival (Japan), Spoleto (US), the European Music Festival (Germany) where he was principal second violin of the Festival Orchestra under Helmuth Rilling and Aspen Music Festival, where he was a fellowship recipient and assistant concertmaster of Aspen Festival Orchestra.
A recipient of the Hadar Foundation grant, Mr Bekker was recently appointed to the Houston Grand Opera and Ballet Orchestras.
